THE AREA
Manx life and history is quite different to that of the rest of the UK, with its unique steam railway, and notable museums in Peel and Douglas. Whilst its capital is known for its glitzy nightlife and casino, Port Erin is a genteel old seaside town, not lacking a good supermarket (opposite the hotel) plus a good bookshop and the facilities of a peaceful family orientated resort. A hire-car is useful, the only airport being 20 minutes from Cherry Orchard, whilst nowhere is much more than an hour's drive away. Sea-food, boat trips and superb coastal walks make the Manx experience a remarkable one.
THE APARTMENTS
Developed alongside an existing hotel Cherry Orchard is currently undergoing refurbishment (correct on 04/07/2000) of its apartments, to match its award-winning restaurant, whose Sunday Brunch is as popular with locals as with visitors. Unfortunately this resort does not allow dogs.
