Turkey is a state in the south-east of Europe and south-west Asia, whose culture combines ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman traditions. In the multinational Istanbul on the banks of the Bosphorus Strait, tourists are attracted by the famous Hagia Sophia with its upward dome and Christian mosaics, the majestic Blue Mosque of the 17th century and the Topkapi Palace, built in the 1460s - the former residence of the Ottoman Sultans. The capital of Turkey is the modern city of Ankara.
Antalya
Antalya is a resort town that is famous for its Old Harbor, where yachts are moored, and beaches surrounded by huge hotels. It is located on the Turkish Riviera - a stretch of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, which attracts tourists thanks to the transparent blue waters. The Hadrian's Gate, built in honor of the Roman emperor who visited Antalya in 130, and the Hıdırlık Tower erected in the 2nd century, from which a superb view of the harbor opens, recall the period when the city was an important port of the Roman Empire.
Kemer
Kemer is a seaside resort on the south of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. In this part of the Turkish Riviera there are pebbly beaches and a large marina. The pine forests of the Olympos-Beydaglari National Park grow nearby, and the cable car leads to the top of the Tahtaladag mountain. Nearby are the extensive ruins of the Greco-Roman city of Phaselis and the legendary Mount Yanartash, crowned with the tongues of flame, constantly arising from the spontaneous combustion of natural gas.
