THE AREA
The Alto Golf and Country Club is situated close to the village of Alvor, the ancient capital of the Algarve, between the towns of Portimгo and Lagos. Alvor is a fishing village, where you can still experience the daily fish auction which is held at the waters edge. It nestles on a river estuary harbouring one of the most valued bird sanctuaries in Portugal and boasts fine sandy beaches which stretch as far as the eye can see. Set in18 acres of sub-tropical gardens, pools and waterfalls, it is an ideal location overlooking the beach and enjoying breathtaking views of the bay of Lagos and the Atlantic Ocean.
THE APARTMENTS
All apartments have balconies and are completelyequipped for everyday requirements. Telephone, electricity and water are metered and charged as used. Maid service is normally provided daily. Linen, including beach towels are changed once a week. The indoor pool can actually be turned into an outdoor pool by virtue of a sliding roof, however during July and August it is unavailable to anyone under 16 years of age for safety reasons . We would point out that building work is being carried out next door to the Resort, as of 13. 05. 02.

DIRECTIONS
Take the E125 from Faro, direction Portimгo. Please note that the E125 is extremely busy and is the only coastal road leading from East to West along the Algarve. The highway police are always out checking for speed - especially in the peak season. Just before Portimгo, continue straight on over the new suspension bridge until you see the sign for Alvor. Turn off the N125 road there and follow signs for Alvor and Alto Club. Alto is very well signposted. Bear left at the roundabout in Alvor, past Alisuper (supermarket) on the right, up the hill and Alto Club is the next turning on the right and right again.
