THE AREA
The marina is located between Staines and Chertsey. Chertsey is famous for the Benedictine Abbey founded in the 7th Century. From either town there are train services that run into the centre of London. There is so much to do on and around the Thames, you will find a week will not be long enough. The Thames has a wide range of attractions and activities for all the family to enjoy. Whether it be sitting in a restaurant, pub or cafй on the riverside, getting lost in Europe's largest maze, visiting thecastle of Windsor, soaking up the atmosphere of the Henley Regatta, feeling the rush of excitement as you take part on some of the fastest rides at Thorpe Park theme park or just cruising down the river at a leisurely pace, soaking up the beautiful scenery and watching the world go by. Whatever you choose to do, you will find your holiday on the Thames an unforgettable experience. London has adapted to its tourism culture and has estabilshed useful passes for major attractions in London. An example of one of these is the "London Pass", which allows entry to over 60 attractions and free public transport. Also the Fast-track facility allows you quick entry to the busiest attractions in London, which comes in very handy. It also includes free trips to such places as the Tower of London, Windsor Castle, the London Dungeons and many more
THE APARTMENTS
The narrowboat has been insulated for both summer and winter months, ensuring you feel comfortable at all times. The interior has been finished in light ashand is fully carpeted in the sitting and bedroom areas. The well appointed galley area includes everything you'll need to self cater during your holiday. The semi-tiled bathroom includes an electric shower. Sit-in bath and hairdryer facility. Luxurious double bedrooms (one with TV) feature double wardrobes, underbed storage and double duvets. The lounge area (below) also serves as a dining area and is enhanced by double doors opening on to the foredeck. A colour TV, video and CD player ensure entertainment is at hand whatever the weather. Your own skipper is at hand for those not feeling confident to navigate the boat themselves. As part of MDL the marina has a range of facilities such as toilets and showers, CCTV, night security, a chandlery for gifts and groceries, a small restaurant and bar at the local yacht club and the opportunity for daily trips to Ascot or cruises down to Henly, if you fancied a change. A Ј69 utility fee payable on arrival is required, this covers fuel (a full tank is provided), 2 full gas cylinders for cooker and central heating, insurance, Cruising License, weekly cleaning, checking the boat engine. There is also a Ј250 refundable security deposit payable on arrival. This can be paid by leaving credit card details or cash (which will be receipted). The Charterline Boats do accept one well behaved pet but there is an additional charge of Ј25 payable on arrival to cover any extra cleaning costs. If arriving after 4pm please telephone the Marina office on 01932 567 541. Please let the resort know prior to arrival as to how many adults and children are travelling to enable them to arrange for the suitable sizes of life jackets to be provided. Please be advised that due to possible adverse weather conditions the level of the Thames may be high and too fast flowing therefore the boat may not be taken from the marina.
